As a contribution to sustainability and healthy eating, we now deliver each WauWau pepper mill filled with pepper of the Tellichery variety. This organic Tellichery is much more aromatic in taste than conventional pepper from the market. The grains are handpicked, they are grown and harvested (certified organic) in the Periyar Nature Reserve in the Indian state of Kerala.
Moreover, they come from a small farmers' collective: "PDS - Project Peermade Development Society", which means that these farmers not only cultivate sustainably, but are also paid appropriately.
We also fully agree with the authors of the book "Pepper - Recipes and Stories about Power, Greed and Lust", which points out that an important utensil in the kitchen and on the table is essential for pleasure and enjoyment: "In my opinion, the slightly higher expense for a pepper of such quality is worth it, not least because of the better aroma of sun-dried and hand-selected grains.
