French beans with pear
Ingredients 250 g green beans1 small onion

1 firm pear

1/8 l white wine

Oil

Salt

Preparation
  • Wash the runner beans, remove both ends and cut into pieces of equal length. Boil in salted water until al dente, drain water, quench green beans with ice-cold water.
  • Finely chop the onion, halve the pear, remove the core, cut into cubes.
  • Fry onion in oil until translucent, add pear, continue to fry, pour white wine and quickly boil down the liquid. Stir in the green beans, add salt, and allow to infuse briefly.
Note  Spotted at the weekend at a birthday buffet and found wonderfully refreshing. French beans with pear - also works lukewarm or cold!
