The Pirate's Bride is the sister of the "Little Sailor", a mill that has one characteristic of a "travel pepper mill": it is small. The 7.5 centimeters come about because the WauWau stainless steel grinder, with which all WauWau mills are equipped, dictates the minimum dimensions. Smaller would be unwieldy or inefficient. And the grinder is, as we all know, the heart of a pepper mill.

Thus, the 7 cm divided into the rotatable top (face) and the body of walnut. The walnut was finely sanded and oiled, so the pores are closed and dirt can not penetrate. It can be cleaned with clear water. The oil protects the surface, but the walnut will get a patina through repeated use, and become more and more beautiful.

The top of the Pirate Bride is made here in the 7th district of Vienna in a lathe shop. The aluminum is milled from the solid block, then deburred and ground. A woman of the seas, like the sailor, naturally needs an earring made of copper. In the other ear, the "luxury woman" has a huge bling, namely a high-quality Swarovski Zirconia.

Where the sailor looks grim, the pirate bride naturally has a kissing mouth. The headscarf covers the second eye - or replaces the eye patch. The nose of the sailor woman is a ball made of black bakelite. You twist this ball off, pull the aluminum top off the body to fill the mill. You can fill the pepper mill to the brim with (black) peppercorns, but -due to the size- this amount is enough for a little over 4 days. At least in my experience, and I am, however, an avid seasoner.

The grinder itself is made of stainless steel, the grinding ring and grinding cone are made of hardened stainless steel. The mechanism was designed for the cutting of peppercorns, that is, the feed angle and the size of the grinding teeth are matched to the size and consistency of the peppercorns. In my experience, the black pepper, green, white pepper work well. Stem pepper also grinds well. However, the so-called red "pepper" is usually too soft and smears the grinder - apart from that usually not a real pepper, but a berry.
