Eine Pfeffermühle der WauWau Masterpieces Edition.

Es ist Jahrzehnte her, da las ich einmal eine Kurzgeschichte  eines Science Fiction Schriftstellers, ich glaube es war J.G.Ballard? Diese Geschichte handelte von einem Mann, der sich auf Wanderschaft begab, sich verirrte, jedoch keinen Menschen weit und breit treffen konnte, um ihn um den Weg zu fragen. Er kam zu einem Haus, das zwar bewohnt schien, allerdings war auch dort niemand anzutreffen. Er richtete sich dort ein, wartete, doch es tauchte nie jemand auf. Es fiel diesem Mann mit der Zeit auf, dass es langsam an der Zeit war, die Kornfelder zu mähen, da das Korn schon reif war. Er bemerkte eine Sense im Eck und machte sich ans Werk. Alles war ein wenig spuky, und es kam wie es kommen musste: der Mann bemerkte, dass er in Vertretung des Todes mähte, der Sensenmann, jede Ähre ein Menschenleben….

Der Künstler Stoyan Dobrev malt exklusiv für WauWau Pfeffermühlen. Die Mühlenunikate der Masterpiece Edition sind weltweit einzigartig und stellen wohl mehr als eine alltägliche Pfeffermühle dar.

Dieses Modell zählt sicherlich zur Oberliga was Pfeffermühlen so bieten können. Nicht nur, dass sie ein Einzelstück eines in Wien lebenden Künstlers ist, sie wurde auch in Wien hergestellt. Wo gibt’s denn so etwas?

Das Pfeffermahlwerk aus der eigenen Werkstatt ist auf Langlebigkeit ausgelegt und deshalb aus Edelstahl gefertigt. Wir verwenden daher auch keine Plastikteile, die über die Jahre nur spröde werden und brechen können. Unsere Mühlen sind eine Freude für das ganze Leben, im Gebrauch wie auch als Dekorationsgegenstand.

Gefüllt ist diese Pfeffermühle mit einem schwarzen Biopfeffer aus Indien der Sorte „Tellichery“.

„The Grim Reaper“

A pepper mill from the WauWau Masterpieces Edition.

Decades ago, I once read a short story by a science fiction writer—I think it was J.G. Ballard? The story was about a man who went on a journey, got lost, and couldn’t find anyone to ask for directions. He came to a house that seemed inhabited, but there was no one there either. He settled in, waited, but no one ever appeared. Over time, the man noticed that it was slowly time to harvest the grain fields, as the grain was already ripe. He spotted a scythe in the corner and set to work. Everything was a little spooky, and then it happened: the man realized that he was harvesting in place of Death, the Grim Reaper, each ear of grain representing a human life…

The artist Stoyan Dobrev paints exclusively for WauWau pepper mills. The unique mills of the Masterpiece Edition are one-of-a-kind worldwide and represent more than just an everyday pepper mill.

This model certainly belongs to the top league of what pepper mills have to offer. Not only is it a unique piece by an artist living in Vienna, but it was also manufactured in Vienna. Where else can you find something like that?

The pepper grinding mechanism from our own workshop is designed for durability and is therefore made of stainless steel. We therefore do not use any plastic parts that would only become brittle and break over the years. Our mills are a joy for a lifetime, both in use and as a decorative object.

This pepper mill is filled with organic black pepper from India, of the „Tellicherry“ variety.
